Engineering America's Future

As part of Forte Construction’s continued mission to support education, we have supported the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) for a second year in a row to provide scholarships to foster America’s next generation of engineers.

Today’s young people are often driven by a desire to make a big difference in the world, and engineering is an ideal path to help them do just that.

Engineers are the backbone of innovation and progress in our modern world. Their expertise and ingenuity play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure, technology, and systems that not only define our daily lives but also drive economic growth and environmental sustainability for the future.

For more than twenty years, SAME has been organizing Engineering and construction camps for adolescents to explore opportunities in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Teenagers at the SAME camps can experience the different branches of engineering to find one that aligns with their interests and passions. Through hands-on activities, campers develop vital skills such as teamwork, leadership, problem solving, and more.

Campers are paired with mentors who offer guidance, share their experiences, and provide valuable insights into engineering-related professions. An important aspect of the program is its outreach to young women and minorities, allowing them an equal opportunity to envision themselves in a promising and evolving field.

Forte Construction is proud to have donated $18,500 to SAME over the past two years to help this great non-profit organization award more than 200 scholarships to aspiring engineers each year.

Encouraging teenagers to become our nation’s next generation of engineers is not only a wise investment in both our and their futures but also a way to foster innovation and progress in society. By highlighting the impact, diversity, creativity, and opportunities in the fields of engineering through SAME’s camps and scholarship funds, we can inspire the next generation to pursue this exciting and rewarding career path.
