Forte Construction Corp. has completed

extensive renovations at its new headquarters in Islandia.

The general contracting firm and its

subsidiaries TAP Electric and BR Construction expanded and relocated to the three-story, 30,000-square-foot office building on 2.08 acres at 1770 Motor Parkway. Forte Construction, which purchased the property for $5.175 million in July 2021, had been operating out of an 8,000-square-foot space in Holbrook for the last 45 years, according to a company statement.

Forte invested in substantial upgrades to the Islandia property, including a

comprehensive gut and remodel of its first two floors, significant structural

modifications and exterior enhancements. The first floor now has a new

reception area and five offices, and the second floor now has 15 offices with

standing desks, ergonomic chairs and other features.

Working with 10 subcontractors, project manager Ryan Scheubel

spearheaded the interior renovations, which included new conference rooms

with built-in iPads, multiple kitchenettes, environmentally friendly bathroom

fixtures and a revamped elevator. The project also included precast panels

around the building’s columns and windows enhanced with an aluminum

storefront design.

“Our teams lead some of the most vital construction projects across the New

York City and Long Island region — everything from new school construction

to sustainability efforts combating climate change, to increasing ADA

accessibility in Penn Station and throughout the MTA system,” Forte Vice President Jeffery Cardillo said in the statement. “A special sense of pride comes from working on the facility that our own company will use daily. Our new facility is refreshed and sharp, and we look forward to all our colleagues experiencing it for themselves.”

Forte will occupy the first two floors of the Islandia building and the company plans to retain ownership of the Holbrook facility for warehousing, logistics and future expansion purposes.

“Following many successful years in our Holbrook facility, it became clear that our ever-expanding team required more space and a state-of-the-art facility to serve our clients across the New York metropolitan area,” Larry Pappas, president of Forte Construction, said in the statement. “We look forward to officially opening this new facility and beginning a new era for our firm.”

Forte Construction and its subsidiaries collaborate on a wide variety of projects with several government agencies, including the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Long Island Rail Road, New York City Housing Authority, Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, and others. Forte and its subsidiaries also maintain offices in Manhattan and Queens.
