Astoria Boulevard Station Elevators Are Now Open!

Construction Team

This week we celebrated the opening of the elevators at the Astoria Boulevard Station, making it the 1st ADA Accessible Station on the Astoria Line. The MTA debuted the new station elevators on Monday and interim NYC Transit president Sarah Feinberg said it best, "Today is both an opportunity to celebrate progress and renew our promise to the absolutely vital work of making our subway system more accessible for everyone who uses it."

The NYCT ADA upgrade and station renewal at Astoria Boulevard included the installation of new elevators and elevated walkways, the reconstruction of the mezzanine and employee facilities, restoration of walkway and platform canopies, and pedestrian safety improvements including installation of select bus service stops in the borough of Queens.

It is important to note that despite the challenges and current circumstances, our team managed to deliver all 4 elevators to the public one month ahead of schedule. A huge thank you to our amazing team that made this happen!
