There are times in our lives when we are asked to answer a call for the greater good. During this difficult time, Forte-TAP was asked to do just that, and we are proud to say we have answered that call. New York State needed assistance to help protect the men and women who selflessly work on the front line to fight COVID-19. In an effort to combat this disease, and to keep these workers safe, Forte-TAP has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ventilators and many other items to New York State.
Forte-TAP has also assisted Stony Brook Hospital reach their goal to raise $200,000 for the COVID Rapid Response Biodesign and Medical Engineering Fund. This fund will be used to quickly respond to evolving needs for novel medical equipment based on feedback received from the front line clinical providers at the hospital.
Funds raised will go directly to collaborative and innovative device design, interactive rapid prototyping and the testing and rollout of solutions addressing the health and safety of COVID-19 patients and their healthcare providers. Secondary benefits may also be realized by the community, as a way to mitigate or stop the regional spread of this disease.
