Forte Construction is proud to announce the completion of the NYCHA Sandy Restoration Project at the East River Houses in Manhattan. In 2012, Superstorm Sandy damaged the public housing complex. The project was a significant undertaking that involved repairing and restoring the complex's infrastructure with minimal disturbance to the residents.
The project included removing and replacing roofs on eight buildings, installing new rooftop generator enclosures, automatic transfer switches, and electrical distribution panels, extensive underground utility work, interior architectural renovations, and replacing flood-damaged mechanical and electrical equipment. Also, Forte provided new manually deployable floodproofing systems in areas below the FEMA flood level.
