Forte Construction is proud to announce that Phase One of the LIRR Babylon Station—the renovation of the station’s western platform—has officially reopened to the public after eight months of construction. Despite the scale of this project, train service has remained uninterrupted, thanks to the coordinated efforts of our team and partners.

This renovation includes a wide range of improvements designed to enhance safety, accessibility, and the overall commuter experience. The station will feature ADA-compliant elevators, a fully modernized platform, upgraded lighting, and digital information screens. New canopies have been installed to protect riders from the elements, and one of the most notable enhancements is the installation of an automated snow and ice melting system to ensure safer travel during winter months.
Construction has been progressing seven days a week to keep the project on schedule while maintaining consistent service for LIRR commuters.
Looking ahead, the eastern half of the platform is scheduled to begin its transformation this fall, with construction expected to take another eight months. We look forward to continuing our work on this important project and delivering lasting improvements to Long Island’s transit infrastructure.
