Elevator 335 is now in service at West 4th Street–Washington Square, marking the 19th and final elevator delivered under the 19 Elevators Project — completed ahead of schedule in collaboration with the MTA and Lead Designer Goldman Copeland. EL 335 brings a multi-year accessibility initiative to a successful and proud close.

Serving the B, D, F, M, A, C, and E lines, EL 335 expands accessible service at one of Lower Manhattan's busiest and most connected transit hubs. The hydraulic elevator replacement included reconstruction of concrete topping slabs across all elevator landings to meet ADA slope requirements, along with installation of a new split cooling system for the Elevator Machine Room — with the condenser routed through an extended run to a street-level vent shaft, requiring careful planning within the constraints of an active station environment.

This project has been defined by the strength of the team behind it. Exceptional coordination between field teams, subcontractors, the MTA, and Goldman Copeland kept work advancing across multiple active sites simultaneously — contributing to the successful delivery of all 19 elevators.

Nineteen elevators. One extraordinary team effort.
