Three New Elevators Commissioned at Euclid Avenue Station

Forte Construction is pleased to announce the successful commissioning of three brand-new elevators at Euclid Avenue Station. A key subcontractor to the Design-Build Team led by Halmar International and Lead Designer, Dewberry Engineers, Forte placed all three elevators into service on June 30, 2025, which is nearly three months ahead of the MTA’s scheduled deadline. The installation marks the full replacement of all three elevators at Euclid Avenue Station.

The updated MTA specifications required more robust components, including heavier equipment and higher-capacity systems, than those used in the original installations in January 2006. Forte collaborated with the elevator installer, OTIS, and the Lead Designer, Dewberry Engineers, to develop practical, site-specific solutions including the design and installation of custom elevators built to fit precisely within the station’s narrow existing shafts. Installing three elevators simultaneously, in such a confined environment, demanded tactical coordination, rigorous safety planning and a carefully sequenced construction approach to allow all trades to work efficiently.

Forte Construction is proud to continue to work with the MTA in delivering accessible, modern infrastructure to New York City’s transit riders.
