The Forte–Gramercy Joint Venture, alongside the MTA, Lead Designer Stantec, and the Naik–STV JV PMC team, has successfully placed EL 321 into service at Church Avenue Station. Serving riders on the 2 and 5 lines, EL 321 is the 22nd elevator commissioned under the 37 Elevators Project.
In addition to the new elevator installation, the project included expansion of the Elevator Machine Room to accommodate new equipment. The room was nearly doubled in size by incorporating a portion of an adjacent stairway area, while the remaining public stairway was reconstructed to support the new layout.
Extensive coordination among project teams helped optimize equipment layouts within the expanded space while maintaining required clearances and code requirements.
Throughout construction, the Forte–Gramercy Joint Venture worked closely with the MTA, Stantec, and the Naik–STV JV PMC team to advance the project through construction and commissioning. Construction at Church Avenue required careful planning within the station's limited work areas, with phased execution supporting multiple scopes of work. Through detailed coordination and collaboration, project teams maintained steady progress from construction through commissioning.
